Basic facts for people who don't really "get" technology

HOW TO UNFREEZE YOUR COMPUTER WITHOUT RESTARTING IT.

If you have this logo in the bottom left of your computer screen then you have windows.

If you have this logo anywhere on your computer you have an apple mac

If your computer freezes on windows, holding Cntrl (bottom left of your keyboard), Shift (just above cntrl) and pressing Esc (top left) will bring up the "task manager" (which literally manages all the tasks you have on your computer)

There are a number of "tabs" on the windows task manager, like this

you might NOT have ALL of these "tabs" but make sure you click "Applications".

All the programs you have running will be listed, choose whatever program is freezing your computer.
If you do not know what is causing your computer to freeze, it is probably whatever program you use to view the internet.
It is likley you should end anything called Internet explorer, safari, google chrome, firefox, opera or maxthon.

If ending any of these programs doesn't work, think back to what you were doing just before your computer froze and end that program.

By the by - ending a program means it hasn't "saved" so if you end a program like Microsoft word you will be forced to restart from where you last stopped.
